Marketing consultant by day, Potterhead, obsessed with pandas and cooking up a storm… also by day because I’ll be in bed by 9 pm, devouring my next thriller so I can finally clear my endless TBR.

Just kidding, we all know I’ll be adding 26 new books to it before the end of the week.

Originally, I’m from Italy's Northernmost region called South Tyrol which - long story short - once belonged to Austria.

It’s a pretty unique place to grow up in because we combine the best of two worlds: we get the punctuality and organisational skills from the German/Austrian culture and the yummy food and passion from the Italian one. Can’t be better than that, right?

And yes, that also means I speak both German (my mother tongue) and Italian. And Dutch because of my partner. And English, obviously, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to write this text right now.

I have always been obsessed with food and growing up in Italy has (unfortunately for me, great for you) raised my standards to an incredibly high level.

I can’t wait to share some of our unique dishes with you at one of my reading retreats.

After all, cooking food & enjoying it together is my love language.

  • Harry Potter - my all-time favourite series. It's mandatory to have at least one Harry Potter marathon and/or reread each year. Ideally, more.

    Other honourable mentions from my childhood:

    • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

    • Eragon by Christopher Paolini

    • Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

    • Psychological thrillers

    • Historical fiction, particularly anything set in Ancient Rome, WW1 & WW2 or the Victorian period

    • Fantasy

    • Long chapters (I'm talking 30+ pages, who has time for that?)

    • When my kindle shows the position instead of the page number or time left in the chapter...gross.

    • Books with stickers on the cover. Especially when you can't remove them.

    • Books with movie adaptation covers.
